Weird Rhino Question

After searching and purchasing on E-bay, i am greeted with a very pleasant box of terribly painted plastic!
An old whirlwind, some bikes, a book on dwarfs... a nice haul overall.

However, investigating the Whirlwind, I noticed that it didn't look right from behind, or especially from underneath...

Now, I'm relatively new to Space Marines, having played mostly Dark Eldar before this, so i've never actually bothered to look under the skirt of a rhino. But isn't that another rhino top, not bottom?
I'm pretty sure that it's actually two rhinos, but I thought i'd make sure as most images tend to focus on the top and front of the little transports, especially the older ones. But, this got a pretty big laugh out of me once I figured it out, so i thought i'd share.
Now comes the tricky part; realizing that I don't have a bottom or a backside for the whirlwind, or at least not the correct one, what's Dakka's recommendation on bashing together the pieces I'll need? Looks like I'll need the back door, maybe some bits for the sides, and if I want to turn this unexpected extra top into another vehicle i'll need to figure out new sides and yet another door. Any tips from the peanut gallery?

Weird Rhino Question

See this? this is why i ask stupid questions on the internet. Thanks dude, here I was thinking on the best way to tear this apart. Does the old model use the alternate front as a back, as well? Because it looks less like a door than I thought they were supposed to look.

Weird Rhino Question

I think there were flat circular plates you could put on underneath instead of those hatches. I'll see if I can dig one of my old Rhinos out to check.

*intermission*

Yeah, I've found an old Rhino kit in an old toolbox. The flat circular panels are on the sprue with the Rhino sides. The round hatches are on the sprue with the top/bottom of the hull. The hinged hatch goes on the top and bottom, there is no variant plate for that. The two front "doors" are interchangeable with the "ramp" piece, so apart from the round hatches on the bottom looking a bit odd, that is a correctly assembled Rhino.

At least that's less conversion work than you expected. :-)

Oh, a quick update: The old Predator came with an optional front plate with an Aquila on it, if my memory serves me correctly. I've got one of those kicking around, but I forget where it is. lol
