carroburg crimson

I just cracked the pot, my first try with it, figured i would try it straight out of the pot to test the finish.

dear lord it's awful. tide marks everywhere, it leaves a very strange finish in some spots, shiney in some spots, matt and chalky in others.

it's like devlan mud or badab black in colour, is it even crimson at all? it doesnt look like it.

now im trying to think of how i can fix it. maybe dilute with tons of glaze medium and add red ink.

RIP baal red

and yes i shook it up, so please dont post telling me to shake it.

Probably a bad pot. Or it could be whatever you're using it over. What paints are you using it on?

i meant that in the recesses of a red model it somehow looks black. which is not really a bad thing i guess, it looks pretty good.

i added some glaze medium and as much water as the pot would fit. it's working great now.

Mine was the same, I just add water so its about 2/3 wash 1/3 water. It makes it less harsh in the recesses, more of the base showing through on high spots and makes it more matte. Glad youre having some success now
