When I'm happy with my chaos I was looking into taking up Tyranids at some point.

I've never sprayed anything other than black and white primer from the Citadel range, but I'm considering painting up tyranids in some ridiculously vivid colours. I was looking here at the Montana Gold spraypaint range, and all their range of colours. I'm certainly going to be experimenting!! Source.

I'm curious to know if any of you spray your models other colours, and what the effect looks like afterwards. I've seen some purple spray on nids but yaaaaawn. Also any particular brands you support?

I have no idea what colour scheme my nids would be yet, (maybe something with a neon green) I've a battleforce unassembled and shelved for years I should really get out and start tearing up some foes, I bought them years ago and my friends convinced me out of collecting them because they were boring and had no stories or real customising options. I've since decided they're talking crap.

I applied Mechrite Red to the carapace and then gave the figure a full body wash of Raw Umber. Very nice, Easy, Quick and Effective. The colours you used work perfectly.

You can see I used earth colours.

I finished the details with pink and red oxide, and the light QuickShade from Army Painter for shading and varnish, followed by matt varnish spray.

The great thing about Montana Gold is they dry almost instantly so you can paint the army really quickly.

I seem to be unable to find the Rustoleum Almond spray after a quick google search. Where'd you source it from? I used the high heat because of the flat color ... very possible the same color exists in another line as well. They do red oxide, ochre, grey as well as white & black. Mostly I use grey & black.

(On the landraider below, the only paint was the prime coat & a bit on the metallic bits - the rest was done with pigments.)
