Use Kings Of War orc Bodies to make 40k Orks?

Has anyone had any success using KOW Orc Bodies to make 40k Orks? I was looking at getting a set of 30 KOW Orcs off Minature Market for the price of 10 GW Boyz. I was planning on using extra Slugga and Choppa bits to make them a mob of 30 'ard boyz.

Are these models fairly compataible with the 40 ork arm bits? They seems to look like if you cut the pegs off the KOW models where the arms attach, it should work fine.

Perhaps

Though I believe they are a little smaller/not as oversized. Might just want to buy some extra Warpath Marauder bitz

Use Kings Of War orc Bodies to make 40k Orks?

I had never heard of Warpath Marauders before, but looke dinto it, and while SLIGHTLY more expensive, the look MUCh more like the 40k Orks. Thanks very much for the advise, and the comparison pic with the KOW and GW Orc side -by-side, it helped me to see that they are similar, but not close enough to mix bits, as the arms would end up looking quite oversized.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Looking into it more, the Warpath ones look alost exactly like the KOW ones, but Sci-fi themed instead of fantasy. Are they the same size as the KOW ones? Because if so, I don't think they are much better since the bodies are what I needed mostly.

Use Kings Of War orc Bodies to make 40k Orks?

I have a few Marauders. Like most Mantic models, they trend more toward the "true-scale" end of the spectrum, which means they don't mesh terribly well with GW parts. Grunts are closer to the height of a Nob than a Boy (ignoring spikes, poles, hair squigs, etc.), but the torso is much more narrow. Mixing and matching is going to look odd, in my opinion. I love each type, for various reasons, but I think they're best left as separate entities.

As Oadie says, scale difference with current edition ork weapons are going to look a bit odd. However, if you replaced the entire arm, it just might work.

Also, if you just swap the weapons and you can get hold of RT, 2nd edition or gorkamorka weapons they'd probably look good.

I'd probaby just go with the Warpath Orx Mauraders The weapons they come with are fine as-is and look very Orky.
You might be able to mix them in the same army as a different clan, but I definitley wouldn't mix them in the same unit.

Also, if you're thinking of them as hard boys remember that they are going to look a bit smaller than your other orks.

Give it a shot and see what happens.
