I was thinking of trying this method, although I am a digital artist I was going to create my own texture maps for terrain and mount them myself on my own board. But I'm not sure how well it would turn out. They mention using PVC printing.. I can't seem to find anyone locally that does this.

Any information would be grand, pictures especially! Flexible plastic would be nice, as you can just roll your surface up when you're done, but if all else fails, I'd just use spray adhesive to mount normal paper onto MDF (cut down for easier storage, if necessary), then varnish over the top. I've seen the latter method used to good effect, before. Don't have handy links, unfortunately, but I've seen several Infinity tables done with printed boards and cardstock terrain, either here or on the official game forum.
