I have just started painting some Gretchins as practice and would appreciate any advice.

So far I have put on a base colour on the skin, clothes weapons etc and am really pleased with how it looks. I am using Vallejo Game Color paints.

Now, I really don't want to ruin the next step!! Should I be layering (eg the skin) , then washing, or the other way around? And then do I highlight?

I have a few citadel paints including Nuln Oil and a Flesh Wash.

It is the layering I am most worried about!!
