Medusa Siege Cannon

So, eBay...I recently received a Medusa that I got online, and to my surprise, it wasn't as intact as the original picture implied.

However, this gave me an idea, I made the chassis, and left the gun off with the intention of making not only the Medusa artillery found in the IG codex, but also the stationary cannon found in IA:1 (2).

I'm pretty bad at this kind of thing, so I was hoping someone had already tried this conversion or could help me think how I could do it.

My initial thought was to simply glue it all together, but magnetise the side stabilisers so they could be placed on an IG HWT sized base. The problem with that, is that it doesn't look particularly stable from a fluff perspective.

So...anyone with ideas or experience of this?

Thanks
