I'll post more pics this weekend after painting. This is my first real terrain piece, even if it isn't scratch built. I'm excited to complete it. I've had a few lined up but lacked the motivation to get to it. Glad I did and can't wait to finish. If anyone has suggestions or ideas to add, let me hear 'em!





Here's the door. I tried the hairspray technique for the first time on it. Wasn't real pleased with it, but I may not have let the last coat dry enough. Though the weathering didn't quite turn out like I'd envisioned, I think it still looks good, like it's held back many marauding hordes throughout countless campaigns. Since the picture, I also added rust/grime/water streaks coming down from the hinges, bolts and a couple of the bigger rust patches.



With one of my rubble-y barricades. Made two, but have a few more to make as well. I think I'll get some gator board or extruded poly for those bases, that way I can sculpt the sides so they're not so square.

@Snrub: It's pretty easy, and there are tutorials all over the web. I've heard them called tank traps, dragon's teeth ( though I think that's actually the cement ones), and hedgehogs. Tank trap is what I call them.

The barricades are pretty easy, except I don't have any decent super glue so had to use plastic glue. Worked fine, but the slower time made it more difficult. While I propped them up, gave me time to snip up some more sprue rubble.

Finished the barricades. They were a lot of fun, and practice with my new Patriot was awesome. Such a difference between it and my cheapo. This is only my third time using pigments, the first wash I've made. The more I use them, the more I love them. I think they made a great rusty, oxidation color wash. What do you all think?
