Source of engines and aircraft bits appropriate for 40k?

G'day all,

I'm getting in to the swing of making my own 40k Imperial aircraft. I was wondering if anyone knew a source for engine components? Most real world aircraft that come to mind don't have big exposed engines like Imperial Navy/Space Marine aircraft (face it, as cool as they look, most Imperial aircraft are less sophisticated than your average WW1 plane ).

So anyone know a source for fiddly things I can't easily scratch build like engines and other misc aircraft parts like cockpits? Particularly I'm looking for Thunderbolts and Lightnings (...very very frightening me) , Arvuses (Arvi?) and Marauders.

Cheers,
A.S.S

1/48 and 1/32 WWII German jet kits are pretty handy. They often feature exposed engines like found on this Revell kit

http://hsfeatures.com/features04/images/he16232jl_1.jpg

1:32 Revell Germany Heinkel He 162A-2 'Salamander' - RG4723

There are a lot of little bits and pieces that you can harvest as well...though with the funky size of the GW figures, you often need one kit from both to get it working (tub from a 1/32 and things like landing gear from the 1/48).

A couple helicopter kits, and at least one A-10 have exposed engines as well. You want to try and stick with the plastic kits as they will be the most economical, however in a pinch there are a couple of turbine and jet engine kits out there...though they really start adding to you costs fast.
