How to make a Ghastly Feel...

So I want to do a Ghostly theme for my Dark Eldar, what I've done so far is basically base coat white and put some black wash on.
It turns out really ghostly I guess?
but I want to see if there's a better way to make them feel more Ghastly, like haunted kinda feel.
So I was just wondering what you guys can suggest me try out to do for this ghostly feel...

My current tone kinda looks like this already:

The grey tone kind of makes it look like a statue (I immediately thought of the Angels from Doctor Who). Maybe try adding a wash of blue or green to give it a ghostly tint? Sort of like the ghost army from Lord of the Rings.

Now that you say it, it kinda does look more like a statue...

But I'd like more of a greyish ghostly misty type of ghost if you know what I mean...

How to make a Ghastly Feel...

I would try starting with a relatively dark grey and slowly highlighting up by dry brushing. It might look a bit more like what your looking for.

How to make a Ghastly Feel...

Interesting, I could try that...

Also, anyone know how to add a ghost effect with green stuff onto them?

And anyone knows how to do a broken cloth thing? Like ghost ships have the sorta broken Sails and stuff

Re:How to make a Ghastly Feel...

Though I have no experience with this method, I've read about soaking tissue paper in a PVA/water mix and then sticking it on models as cloth. It should conform to the model nicely, it will have some texture (unlike green stuff) and you can tear it to make it look ragged. I'm sure if you do a search on this site or on Google you can find examples and/or tutorials. I saw it used as a canvas tarp on scenery and it looked pretty sharp.

How to make a Ghastly Feel...

A bright and colored highlight might do well for this model.

It would be like painting Object Source Lighting, but over the whole model, as if the whole thing were being affected by some eerie light.

Green or blue would probably be best, red if you wanted it to look hellish or demonic.

The highlights would only need to be on the highest points, I don't mean to paint the whole thing blue or something. You might even start with a light drybrushing to identify where highlights need to go and how intense they should be.

Well this isn't my model, but I'll definitely try that out.

As for the toilet paper thing, I can't seem to find it even after digging for a while, if you can could you give me a link perhaps?

How to make a Ghastly Feel...

Not toilet paper.

Tissue paper. You can get it at craft stores or anywhere that has gift bags. It's really thin material and you can usually find it in different colors.

How to make a Ghastly Feel...

I like this idea and had a thought about it

I have yet to paint Interrogator-Chaplain from the DV boxed set and he has some smoky effect from chimneys on his backpack... I'll do just what you did... white with black wash

The effect you have with the skin, the wash, and the eyes, it all adds up to pretty damn ghastly. I think you're clicking along on the right track already, myself.
