The story is tailored to the armies me and my mates are taking and was principally written to make the Imperial Guard the 'good guys'. Usually my friend Neil's Imperial Guard are always traitor guard for the purposes of our yearly story campaign that I run and organise, as it usually ends up that he is facing Space Marines, or that he has to ally with my other friend's Chaos Space Marines. But we thought it high time that the Imperial Guard be depicted as the heroes. Those brave soldiers who stand in the face of adversity and fight for what is right. In the instance of The Storm War they may 'technically' be traitors in the eyes of the Imperium, but they are standing on the morale high ground at least.
