As such i was just curious to see if there were many examples of such in the background, apart from the Tanith 1st.

Also how do they name such regiments, numbers and the world.

For example what would a mixture between the Elysian 42nd and Praetorian 9th become ?

OtoH you don't have to have a whole Regiment, the "army" you plan for isn't limited to just 1 Regiment. If you don't mix the units an keep platoons pure Elysians or Praetorians nothing says they can't get along.

- If the two regiments are from the same world then their numbers may be combined (for example 14th Cadian & 77th Cadian could become 14th/77th Cadian)

- If one regiment is so small it's being amalgamated into the larger one then it may, for all intent and purpose, now be considered the same as that larger regiment taking on their name/number.

- If the two regiments are from different worlds but fighting on the same world they may be named for that world - example from the Codex; 182nd Catachan with the 90th Elysian. They were fighting on Prosan and thus were named the 314th Prosan.
