To Deep Strike, or not to Deep Strike?

I've fallen into something of a rut lately. My tactics focus almost exclusively on delivering my guys to the battlefield in a manner that would make Indrick Boreale proud. Yes, I am Mr. Stehl Raen.

More to the point, I'm curious to see what some people's metas have been. I know when 6th dropped mech armies fell out of vogue, which is partly why I made the switch to an all-Drop Pod army. I've had phenomenal success with it, but I'm always curious to see what new ways I could run the army. One idea I've been toying with has been a gunline that I posted in the list section a week back, with some minor modifications here and there.

Another has been switching to one unit in a Drop Pod, preferably an Ironclad in a Lucius-pattern Drop Pod, in order to gain First Blood or to tarpit a unit, while the rest of the force advances in Rhinos and Land Raiders. Anyone else got some cool ideas?

Termicide units are still good for a backfield distraction / first blood. I find with deep striking you either go balls deep or don't bother.

As for Drop Pods, dropping them mid field to establish a solid fire base seems to be the best method, with 1 or 2 heavier units tarpitting the back and drawing a distraction. Not being able to assault from normal drop pods is a huge change. And avoid dropping your reserves in piece meal. 1 -2 pods a turn are easy to deal with if your opponent is massed up (as he should be once he realizes hes against drop pods). Just keep reinforcing your midfield or open up a flank with your next reserve forces.
