Vort's Eldar Project Blog [Now with a bit of paint!]

Hello Fellow Dakkanauts!

After perusing many of these fine hobby blogs, and just starting a new Eldar army, I figured a good way to spur along progress on the army (to encourage me, who has a hard time sticking to projects) would be to use a blog. So! Given some additional cash I have made the initial purchases for my force, consisting of a Eldar Battleforce and a box of Dire Avengers (the troops I want to base my army around). Stay tuned for pictures as I assemble, paint, and play with them. Note: There won't be a lot of conversion, as I'm not really experienced with sculpting, though there may well be some kit bash.

A quick update! I've been hard at work assembling, and have managed to get the Wave Serpent, War Walker, Heavy Wep Team and the smaller squad of DA assembled. You can even see that I am testing banner schemes on the Exarch (better pics of that later). All I have left is 8 Guardians and a squad of 10 DA to finish assembling, and I can get to work on painting this 600 pts.

Paint has reached the models!
After some more assembly and some paintwork, I've got both a finished simple base for my Wave Serpent and most of the test scheme for my DA exarch. The freehand on him needs some major straightening up, and I still haven't decided how I am doing his weapon, but his basic armor turned out better than I expected with only a two tone base and highlight. It should keep the painting simple so I can complete the army.
Enjoy!

My exarch, with unfinished parts, partially done banner and freehand

Finally had the time to get some paint on the Wave Serpent! I tried out the stippling (my first time) and it seemed to go beautifully. Still needs a lot of work, but some basic shots.
