The power field itself can also be turned off, at which point its just a bigger hand with some servos.

Depending on the quality of the fist in question, you could do quite normal things with it. More seriously, like any other weapon, what you can do with it is dependent on training. It would stand to reason, however, that they're relatively easy to use; you punch things with it. They had to adapt to that the first time they put it on as it increases their strength to the point they can easily crush bone, bend metal etc.

Therefore a PF isn't as much as a of a step up from a mortal hand.
