Here is the side hatch, I haven't painted the rifles yet to glue into the slots as I'm not sure what color/colors I'm going to use. Also this was the first experience in gemming. I didn't have a fine detail brush.





Here is the rear hatch. I just painted the windows tonight. I learned a lot from the above window and got a fine detail brush, that helped immensely:





Inside. I used a layer color for the orange. I had trouble with it being splotchy until the last coat I gave it tonight which I really thinned down. I'm going to use a base color orange and then the layer orange from now on and see how that works out. I think I did 3 thin layers, a somewhat thicker layer, and this final very thin layer.





I experimented with the wash on the floor first. I think I got a little carried away on the seats.






And finally I was wondering if I could get some opinions on how to paint the outside. I started painting the engine. My color scheme is Troll slayer orange and a 50/50 mix of black and dawnstone. I'm afraid of either doing too much orange, or too much dark gray.

You did layer the orange but still had trouble; maybe try some other kinds of thinners like les' wash recipe, or some acrylic medium? I am using Troll Slayer Orange. I picked up Jokero Orange which is a base color. I'll be using the base then layer next to see how it turns out.
