Space Marine Homeworld in the Halo Stars?

Another idea for a DIY chapter. Would it be possible, and are there any chapters that already exist there? Could warp travel be possible if a navigator was willing to go that far? Another related question, would a chapter have a Homeworld but spend most of its time crusading in other parts of the universe?

I don't know about homeworlds in the Halo Stars, but to your second question: I believe in the Badab War books one of the chapters is mentioned to have a home world but uses it only sparingly, spending much of their time crusading. The name of the chapter eludes me though, it MIGHT have been the Red Scorpions.

The Storm Wardens homeworld of Sacris, while not technically in the Halo Stars, is extremely close on a galactic scale, to the point that the Sacris subsector of the Drusus Marches borders the Halo Stars.

The Storm Wardens however are mostly fighting on the opposite side of the warp gate, also extremely close to the Halo Stars, as part of the Achilus Crusade. So while they're technically fighting extremely far away, they could return home incredibly quickly.

I never understood how Rogue traders can travel that far out, or at least have gone farther than others. I wonder if a chapter did have a Homeworld that far out in space, they would/could deal with rogue traders. I believe (and again I can't remember the name of the chapter) there was a chapter of space marines that followed a rogue trader for some reason. Also the Carcharodons are from some unknown deep space area.

Pretty sure the Carcharodons are purely fleet based. They might have a homeworld tucked away somewhere, but they spend most of their time in extragalactic space. Come to think of it, I don't think they've addressed where they recruit from....

The Rogue Trader supplement, Navis Primer makes mention of various way stations that have large contingents of astropathic choirs. These choirs are trained to operate like micro astronomicons, working together to send off bursts of psychic energy into the warp. Similar to an ocean-faring vessel navigating by the stars whereas the astronomicon is a light house. Unfortunately setting up these way stations takes a huge effort and the astropaths stationed there need to be constantly replaced due to burn out, so they're only common in areas that are both far enough away to have trouble seeing the astronomicon, but stable enough to be easy to resupply.

The Badab War books mention that their underlying geneseed includes markers from all manner of humans, so more than likely they recruit from whatever worlds they come across, like most fleet-based chapters.

I've heard a good deal about a company or two being bound via honour/debts/something to assist a Rogue Trader. The Nova Marines Chapter joined forces with a RT for a few decades though:

Warp travel is still possible, but you'd need a ballsy navigator. You could put into your fluff that their Battle Barge's Navigator Dome is super Archeotech, or they've found a relic that improves a navigator's senses or something similar to justify warp travel that far out.

They probably recruit like most other fleet based/crusader Chapters... from wherever they can.

I believe the Black Templars, who have no homeworld, recruit from planets upon which they've build chapter keeps. I believe there are many such planets, which, I suppose, is necessary to maintain a Chapter of over 6000.

Other fleet based chapters, the majority actually, recruit from wherever they happen to be. If they operate on a planet, the chapters chaplains and apothecaries may deign to take viable aspirants, if available, from the local population.

In priests of mars they travel to the halo worlds. Is that the same thing as the halo stars? I don't recal much of the plot, as it was a while ago that I read it but IIRC it was pretty good read.
