I was looking into buying one myself but instead decided on a rather cheap but reliable airbrush set up I found on Ebay. Well worth it IMO!

The airbrush and stuff cost me around $70. I need a cheap set but, I refuse to give GW money, its been twenty years, I cant change that, not now...

The GW spray gun as others have said is pretty good for base coating, and a little bit of angle highlighting (according to the Citadel paint guide) - although if you have looked at what some airbrushes can do on YouTube such as AwesomePaintJob, the GW one won't get near that.

The benefits to the spray gun from GW would be decreased time to base coat and overall highlight that would take you a while to do by hand. The downside would be I have no idea how long those gas canisters they sell last for, and they cost a fair bit.

For the same outlay it would cost you to get that GW spray gun plus all the canisters for a 1000 point army lets say.
