Stripping and unglueing!

Hi, I saw a video a while back which mentioned something I could leave my metal miniatures to soak in and it would result in the glue coming undone and the paint all coming off. Does anybody know what I could use? And could it also be used for stripping plastics?

The main thing is unglueing as I have received an Uruk Hai Ballista which is terribly glued and I would like to clean it up

Thanks!

Check the tutorial forum, there's loads of threads on this topic there, like this one from right at the top of the list.

Also as a bonus it's from a guy based in the UK, so all the materials should be obtainable for you.

EDIT: Just realised I'm not sure if this'll take care of the glue, but it will definitely strip paint good and proper.

For metal minis, acetone, even gasoline. Nothing is going to be too caustic for that metal so you can pretty much use the harshest chemicals you can find, within reason.
