this is one of my Black Ork big bosses, who will lead all the orc units instead of a unit champion.

this is a "troll" headhunter, the fluff on these guys is that they grew to respect the skinks of the lizardmen. so they daubed themselves in blue paint and greased their hair to resemble the skink's crests. for the rules I'm thinking they will be Arrer Boyz.

this is an example of one of the basic grunts, because it just wouldn't be Warcraft without massive shoulder pads.

and finally this is the standard bearer for my Black Orc unit. I felt the need to convert the banner, but most of the black orcs will be stock because they already look so much like the Kor'Kron Guard.

finishing the Thrall mini I'm using as my Warboss.

this is a mini for a custom special character based on my first World of Warcraft character Goretek. I'm not quite sure about the rules on him yet, but he's going to be in the Hero catagory and have "Sniper" and his own special rule that when the unit he is in suffers from animosity he leaves it immediately. also I was thinking about a rule for him called "Quick Tanning" that whenever he kills a character he gets a permanent boost to his armor save up to a 2+.

but wait there's more! this is an example of what I'm using as a night goblin, Peons. I figure the lower leadership and higher initiative of NGs were better suited for the cowardly Peons.

finally to wrap it all up I've got the first part of the introductory fluff for your perusing pleasure:
“Welcome traveler to Ogrimmar, home of the Dranar Tribe. I am Jaral, Warchief of the Dranar. You seem perplexed, I take it you’ve never met an orc capable of intelligent speech? There is an explanation for this: you see we were not originally orcs, and the story of how we came to be orcs is quite the tale if you would care to listen.
The story begins about twenty years ago. Back then we Dranar were a small tribe of Norsemen living in a bay just beyond the Sea of Claws. A few years before I was born my people converted en mass to the worship of Ulric. This offended the old, dark gods, and they ordered the other tribes to annihilate us. I was just a boy when the other tribes gathered outside our walls hungry for blood. That seemed like it would be the end of us.
Then our dark salvation came, a robed man sailed into our port and offered us a way out. He called it “Gorksblood” a potion that would give any man who drank it unimaginable strength and resilience. He offered to make enough of this potion for all of us, and we accepted his offer.
The last thing any of us remember we consumed the potion before falling into a great rage, and then we found ourselves standing in a field of blood, having routed the enemy from the field. As we looked at ourselves we began to realize that the potion had not only given us strength, it had turned us into orcs. But that was not the most horrific thing we found after that battle.
As we reentered our village we found that in our rage we had battered down our own gate to attack the enemy, and as we slaughtered them wholesale a few had slipped in and sacrificed our women and children to the Dark Gods. I was lucky, I was the son of the Thane, so I was required to be his shield guard. If I wasn’t I would have been among those sacrificed.
What followed were dark days, many men had lost everything that was important to them: their lands, their families, their humanity. Worst of all we knew it would only be a matter of time before another, greater army came to destroy us. We had no choice, we had to leave our homeland to find new lands to settle.
So we gathered what belongings we had left and loaded them onto the longboats. Then in a final symbolic act we set fire to the village, and our dead along with it. Forevermore that would be their funeral pyre. As we sailed away from our burning village we contemplated where we would find new lands, but that is a story for another time.”

this is Jaral, the one telling the story in the fluff piece above. as you can see he is based on Thrall. I don't know if this is all I'm going to do to him at this point, or if there's more I want to add on, some advice would be helpful.

what would an Orc Horde be without it's shamans? (ok I guess it would be the old horde ) so I've made a warcraft 3 shaman to be what else, a shaman in this list. I realized quickly that my skills with GS were not capable of making the "skinned the wolf yourself" look of the game shamans, so I chose a more abstract wolf mask with the pelt hanging over that.

what is it with me and showing you the rear ends of my minis? anyways I spent a lot of time making that wrap around fur thing and getting it just right, so I figured I'd show you.

this is an example of a Headhunter Kor'Kron, who of course leads the headhunters.


here's an example of a Boyz leader, both front and back. I try to make the bosses resemble the units they lead, like they had been promoted from those units to the Kor'Kron.

and this salty looking guy is a Blademaster Kor'Kron. in this army the savage orcs are going to be blademasters.
