I got into WH40K about a week and a half ago. I got a good deal from some friends on CSM stuff and I've been pretty into it so far. I have a pretty sturdy collection for a n00b, but I'm always looking for things to save up for! My most recent addition was a Forgefiend, which I am excited to run for the first time.

I'll likely stick with Chaos as my sole army, and I run Khorne as their god.

-as time goes by especially as a new gamer, brush up on your rules, read the rule book inside and out if you want to. I am still learning cool rules after playing the game for almost 2 years.

-you can never have too much killing for khorne, Blood for the Blood God! Skulls for the skull throne! Let the galaxy burn!1!!11

-and utilize the dakka. i have found this site is my one stop shop for painting tips and tricks or tactica questions, also check out the survivability games in the "more dakka" section. -When you can afford it, you might want to get a dark apostle because he gives units within a certain distance of him his leadership (10)
-I don't normally recommend starting right off the bat with all of the special rules because it can get a little confusing
