Your Unique 40K Weapons and Wargear

Seeing as we have a thread for homebrewed characters and vehicles, how about we start one for weapons and wargear/equipment?

I'll get the ball rolling with some new Chaos Artefacts.

The Vorpal Blade - 25pts
During the celestial horrors of the Horus Heresy, the god Tzeench foresaw a multitude of possible futures stemming from the events on Golia IV, a relatively unimportant Imperial mining world, where it was seen that "two titanic beings would expose their true face, only to be banished from all records and their existence hidden from human memory". Hoping to avoid such an event, as these beings would inevitably swing the outcome of the Heresy in favour of the Chaos Gods, Tzeench crafted a single blade, and delivered it to Golia in a fireball. The blade is of poor quality compared to other of Imperial origin: crudely-forged iron with a brass wire-wrapped handle, yet within the blade itself contains a portion of Tzeench's very own essence. Rather than infusing the blade with a Lord of Change or other Daemonic entity, Tzeench himself removed a portion of his own psychic potential and embedded it within the very atoms that make up the scratched, chipped surface.

While the act was similar to removing a drop of water from an ocean, the psychic might within the blade was of immesurable power. The blade itself knows the fate of every living being in the universe, both Human and Xenos. It is the blade which decides who lives, and who dies, rather than who wields it. During the events of Golia, the blade was recovered by an Ultramarine Legionary known as Vorpalia Serpherus, who slew the Dark Apostle X'ancar of the Word Bearer with a single grazing blow, yet he himself was killed by a small team of Cultists, when the blade was simply deflected from the humans' crude, leather clothing.

The Vorpal Blade has the following profile:
Range: -
S: User
Ap: D6*
Type: Melee, Shred

*Roll a D6 to determine the Ap of the weapon each Fight Sub-Phase. Models with the Mark of Tzeench may re-roll the D6.

Corrupted Apothecarion - 30pts
The Corrupted Apothecarion is simply a small, leatherbacked journal documenting the diseases that have ravaged the living world since the dawn of time. Only true followers of Nurgle can withstand the use of such an item, as while the journal appears pristine and untouched, to the unbelievers of the Plague Lord, the slightest touch will render them helpless to the millions of immunological incantations held within

Models with Mark of Nurgle only. The model with the Corrupted Apothecarion may use it once per game in lieu of shooting. Until the Chaos Player's next turn, all units within 12" of the user that do not have the Mark of Nurgle must re-roll successful saves of any kind, taking the second result as final.

Well, hopefully this will be as popular as the character and vehicle thread. Let's head some wargear suggestions!

Thermites: A small beetle-like Tyranid creature, Thermites are generally found crawling in the exoskeleton crevasses of other Tyranid organisms until they leap off to attack. While possessing sharp fangs and clawed limbs, a Thermite's true threat comes from a pair of chemical reservoir sacs housed within an armored mixing chamber in the creature's abdomen. When threatened, the storage sacs rupture and the volatile chemicals quickly blend, resulting in a chain reaction that melts both the mite and whatever it was clinging to at the time in a burst of super-heated ichor.

A model equipped with Thermites counts as being equipped with Melta Bombs.

Available to:
Tyranid Prime..........+5 points
Tyranid Warrior Brood..........+5 points per model
Tyranid Shrike Brood..........+5 points per model
Ravener Brood..........+5 points per model
Lictor Brood...............+5 points per model
Pyrovore Brood...........free (fits with their current armament)
Ripper Swarm Brood.........+2 points

(Admittedly, this idea came about after a planetstrike game where-in all infantry models counted as being equipped with Melta bombs (needless to say, not much with an armor value remained standing after the gribbly swarms were through). The name in and of itself is a pun on both Termites and the highly flammable Thermite.)

Some more Tau ideas

Pathfinder Grenade Launchers: Limit 2 per squad and replaces the troopers Carbine and Markerlight. If one fires place a Blast that scatters per normal, if both fire at the same location place a Large Blast that scatters per normal. At the impact site it creates a specially designed chemical smoke that provides anything drawing LoS through it with a 5+ Cover save. Any Tau: Codex model with Nightsun Filter wargear can see through this smoke and ignores its effects. It lasts till the beginning of your next turn.

Bothers me that Pathfinders don't have stealth given what they do, so a 2 points per model (including drones) wargear upgrade that grants them Stealth to one terrain type chosen after sides are picked and terrain is placed.

Vehicle Support System: Drop Rockets. Allows a Tau Codex equipped non open-topped skimmer to be placed into and come on the field as a Deep Strike unit.

Vector Thrusters. Tau Codex talks about how the Razorshark Strike Fighter has additional maneuvering thrusters in place of its drones but that fact is not represented stat wise, so give it a wargear option to be able to have the Vector Dancer and Hover USRs. It says it is also a purpose built ground attack so have a wargear option to allow it the Strafing Run USR.

Fast Response Piranha Team: 1-5 Piranhas exchange their Drone bays for rumble seats allowing for the squadron to become a dedicated transport for 2 to 10 Firewarriors or Pathfinders. Treat them as open top transports in regards to Embarking/Disembarking with no fire ports or the ability to Assault after Disembarking, they are too busy holding on.
