Warhammer 40K Battle Report - Free the Daemon Lord - Chaos Marines & Daemons VS Eldar & Grey Knights

This was a special scenario game in which the forces of chaos were attempting to free the Daemon Lord An'ggrath to walk the mortal realms whilst the Grey Knights & Eldar planned to force him back into the warp.
There were two tables, on the larger table Killpoints scored affected An'ggrath release and on the smaller board objective were scored at the end of each game turn which effected his release.
Their were other special rules like transit between the tables, bonus's/penalties to the warp storm table and a special cave in table for the zone mortalis board.
It was 3000pts per side (with forces of 1750 and 1250 on the two boards respectively) dawn of war deployment and the forces of chaos needed to get to 13 summoning points to win whilst the good guys need to get the summoning points down to 1. They started the game at 7.

Very interesting battle, probably one of the most interesting I've seen. I really enjoyed the amount of movement required and the extra considerations from the battle mission. I take it you guys designed this one yourself? It was well thought out, though as you said at the end might need a bit of balancing to take the focus from the bottom table.

Very interesting battle. I love the fluff of the scenario.

Eldar kinda got manhandled on the small board, all those points in one troop choice is painful and made it so taking objectives wasn't really an option for them...which swung the game in the favor of Chaos.

Loved watching it! Can't wait to see what happens with the new Eldar rules, and what they allow on Mortalis...Move-Shoot-Move....so nasty.

Edit: Sentence structure fail!
