Apocalypse 'Bring it Down!' rule.

Just a quick rule I think should be tacked onto Apocalypse games. It's always bothered me that firing the full force of a cannon designed to destroy entire fleets of tanks against a big target does no more damage than getting a little corner of the template.
So...
When firing a 7" or 10" blast weapon at a Gargantuan Creature or Super Heavy Vehicle, the targetting player may declare a 'Bring it Down!' Shot.OIf so, do not roll to scatter - Instead, roll to hit with a +2 modifier to BS (to represent the massive blast and even larger target.) If a hit is scored, roll a D3 for the 7" template or a d6 for the 10" template. That many hits are inflicted, as opposed to the normal 1. Roll to wound or penetrate as normal.

That doesn't make any logical sense.

"Shoot the giant exploding rocket! But make sure it doesn't explode!"

Sorry, logic is getting in the way of this.

Apocalypse 'Bring it Down!' rule.

The idea is, the target is so large and powerful that the full force of the shot is taken by it. You aren't 'making sure a giant exploding rock doesn't explode,' you're hitting a target with it so large that it doesn't hit anything else. If you're firing at a Warhound, for example, would you try and shoot low to the ground where it won't hit much important stuff or blast it in the face? Against even bigger targets, will you really be shooting at its feet? Maybe there should be the addendum that the target must be greater in at least one dimension than the blast, (height, width, or length,) but even so...

He's talking about apoc blast weapons, some of which have templates so large that even with maximum scatter they will still hit the original target. And the big ones ignore cover at least, or can instant death anything without EW or is not a gargantuan creature regardless of toughness, autopens vehicles and usually gets at least a 3+ on the damage table.
