How do you prime them? What inks/washes make the feathers or skin comes out well? Anyone have any interesting tips for how to paint these large daemons?

For feathers, a quick and dirty method would be to prime white, wash it all some underlying dark color like blue or purple that will be the skin tone, then highlight the feathery portions in a separate color and wash again with a complimentary color. Drybrush the feathers whatever color they're going to be, then heavily highlight with a lighter shade. One last thin highlight on the very tips of the lightest and it should look decent.
