First New Fire Warrior!

Here is my first attempt at my new fire warriors, i normally like painting really bright colours on my models but for tau i thought it can look a bit cheesy so i went with some earth tones and came up with desert (sort of) scheme. The base will be getting a dry-brush of ushabti bone and i still need to put sept markings on but here is a quick WIP to get everyones opinion.

Please let me know what you think
C&C is quite welcome.

I would recommend using a secondary color. Right now, the figure is very monotone. A dark green would work. For my Death Guard, I use the equivalent of American Dark Green (vallejo) and wash with Nuln Oil.

I like it but I agree with Ifurita. He could use another color, probably as a "spot color". Maybe some of the armor plates painted Dark Green like Ifurita sugests just to break all that grey. That's my 0,02€ anyway, if you are doing for pure camo, it's a great job

Thanks for the feedback, very helpful

I'll try a spot colour, dark green sounds good and would keep the camo look i'm going for and i really like the idea of painting individual armour plates.

Sometimes, especially with Tau, a monochrome scheme can work, as long as the details of the model are nicely picked out with a wash (which looks like it's going on here) and a subtle additional color involves itself somewhere. I like the bit near the muzzle of the weapon, but it's still similar to the figure itself.

Also - the base, when that's distinct it can offset and liven up the monochrome of the fig. Nice stuff, nice line-work in the recesses.
