I'm a german university student, before that I was a backpacker and spend not quite two years in the millitary (office work, with a smattering of regular infantry training). I realise that may spelling can be quite a bit off, and would like to appologize in advance for if this produces any lack of clarity (I'm quite confident in my vocabulary and grammar though).

I've been out of active wargaming for a bit over a decade, but wh40k has been with me more or less my entire conscious life, ever since I got the 2nd edition starter at the tender age of 9. I've remained an occasional collector, avid reader of background material and interested spectator of developements in the game throughout the years. Since 6th dropped I've been more and more interested in playing games again.

Before I dropped out of the game, I had build up humble armies of Eldar and Tyranids and in sporadic bouts of collecting something that could almost be called an Imperial Guard army, as well as a diverse selection of Dark Eldar, Orcs, Tau and Chaos Space Marines. So I guess you can mark me down as a Tyranid and Eldar player for now, as I'll try to trade in most of my collection to grow one of those armies.

I like infantry, dreadnaughts, monstrous creatures, psionics, artillery from the humble mortar to the mighty (in effect at least) deathstrike and laughing madly as my poor subordinates die in droves. I dislike building and painting vehicles, static gunlines and putting to much trust and points into characters.

Other than that, I only remember my 4th edition armies being blown of the table as they tried walking across the board . I never found out if my Tyranids, after all meant to walk, would have done better, they got finished just before I quit So I suspect I owe them some games.
