I could understand an 'update' to the main books, but to completely redo is the first misstep I've seen BF do in a good long time.

On the 6th of June 2013 we will be launching the new updated versions of both of the D-Day compilations. These new versions will be pointed to fit with the latest books (Americans from the Ardennes, British from Market Garden etc.) and take into account the new rules and changes from Third Edition. We are also going to throw in a few extras that Phil and Mike claim should have been in there originally. The end result will be a pair of books that brings the playing field level for all of Late War in one go.

Now, because many you own these books and expected to keep using them well into the future, we feel that we owe you something for your understanding. Although many of you have petitioned for this to be done, we want to make the introduction of these books – as necessary as they are to balance Late War – as painless as possible. As such, we will use the anniversary of D-Day itself and the month of June to allow anybody who owns the current copies to pop into their local store and get the new version for half price. More details of how this will work will come closer to the time.
