Look Out, Sir! and Kill Team

I've only just started playing this variant and I gotta say, I'm really enjoying it.

However, theres one issue thats come up, which is the ability to easily snipe any model you like. Being able to shoot a leader, specialist, or heavy weapon dude out of a unit without difficulty renders a whole lot of units pretty useless and had a strongly negative impact on our games.

What I propose to address this is simply to allow any non-vehicle model to use the "Look Out, Sir!" special rule. Since you usually have to be part of a unit to use this rule, I figure we either use a set distance (2" or 4" perhaps) or the model's INT value in inches as the 'range' of "Look Out, Sir!"

Thoughts?

Look Out, Sir! and Kill Team

The only problem I see, is that each figure is its own unit in a kill team. So basically sniping is fairly useless since you can target anyone in the Kill Team, even without the sniping ability. 'Look Out Sir!' can not be used in a single figure unit.

Look Out, Sir! and Kill Team

Since each model counts as a single unit, Look Out Sir won't work at all. Squad A can't jump in front of Squad B. However, keeping the leader and specialists in cover and making it harder to snipe them should be what you should be doing.

Again, modify your tactics, not the rules.

Look Out, Sir! and Kill Team

Edit: Looks like the easiest solution is to simply throw GW's Kill Team rules on the fire and go with Darth Meer's rules of the same name. This thread may now proceed to disappear into the archives.

Look Out, Sir! and Kill Team

Darth Meer's Rules for Kill Team? I don't know these rules.

Is it a single squad of Elites or Troops? If that's the case than 'Look Out Sir' at 4+ would be in effect. I tested the single unit this based on using Storm Boys. Even with the ability to deep strike 1st turn, They still weren't worth taking, I lost 3 before entering, then got overwatched leaving Zagstruk (with a wound) in melee, at the beginning of turn 2, he was eliminated.

Look Out, Sir! and Kill Team

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/469610.page

Its a very different game, god knows why it has the same name. Sort of like Mordheim for 40k, or Kill Team with a more narrative driven, RPG like aspect.

Stormboyz wouldn't be able to deep strike, as standard KT doesn't allow any reserves. And having to roll for rokkit packs for each model... yeah, Stormboyz are total garbage under GW's rules

I've had success taking either Deffkoptas with a buzzsaw, or four Meganobs with a reinforced ram Trukk (or extra MAN). The former can kite almost anything and just snipe out the few enermies with long range weapons (this is why I wanted to homerule it, because it made the deffkoptas rediculously good), while being fast and killy enough to deal to tanks by hitting rear armour or assaulting. The latter is scary good when theres heaps of cover about - hide them near the objective and out of sight and then dare the other guy to try and take it from you.
