Just a quick intro really.
Never played the game but painted a few bits and pieces here and there about 15-20 years ago; about the time when the first Deathwing Terminators were released as a box set. Painted on and off when-ever a new model was released that looked interesting so I have a Space Wolf here and a few random Eldar there; which-ever looked cool basically.

Well, recently saw some of the new stuff moulded in plastic that looked pretty good and that piqued my interest in these little things again so I dug out what I had and tidied them up a little bit.

They're mostly Dark Angels stuff as I figured that I might as well stick with one chapter for the sake of consistency/continuity.

So here we go:

Deathwing Terminators












There are two more completed ones but they were a bit too heavily painted from way when to fix up.
The Lightning Claws guy was the last one I had actually finished and the Sargent and Assault Cannon were left half done; that's why you'll notice a different style to the painting/finish and the actual colour of the bone white.

I picked up a box of the Close Combat Terminators as well as the new Command Squad set too and am getting to grips with what I can do with them. I do also still have a few unpainted metal Deathwing that are in the progress of being finished up so these guys will have more members soon.

One of the last things I bought back then were the metal Vanguard models.
Never got around to painting them back then but I saw them in the current Finecast line so I picked up a box to use a "trial run". Three almost done so far:

I kinda split them into two teams

Tactical 1 - All Purpose.



As you can see, I hadn't gotten around to finishing up the face...

Had better luck with the guy with the Plasma though

but what I really liked, was getting cool looking poses (yes, that's supposed to be a grenade...)

Tactical 2 - Double gunners



I started with this guy so he's a little rough around the edges and I couldn't fix him in my recent tidy up sessions. The pose is also a little basic too...


The sergeant isn't too bad


But some of the figures were crying out for something more dynamic


And there's always a place for something a little different.
I always liked the idea of a guy swithing from one gun to another that he has around his neck so here he is in mid-fire

For a while I had an obsession with close quarter weapons that were packaged with the Assault Marines so i spent a bit of time making up some of these guys too.

These are some of the earliest models I painted and you can probably see that in the roughness. Again, where possible I tidied some of them up.

Dark Angel Veterans:

I had originally bought a few of the metal ones way back but never finished them. This gave me an incentive to make a full squad

I know they're not really equipped in terms of actual game-gear but as I said, I don't really play so mostly I went with what I thought looked cool.
As you can probably tell from these and my other ones that I'm quite a fan of double weapons.

inbetween that happening and now, I figured I could make him a casualty of war

Not 100% finished on the figures yet and I'm not entirely convinced by the resin they use for these. I seem to recall the original metal ones being somewhat sharper and most definitely didn't have so many sink-holes and bubbles. It's almost embarrassing how ragged some of those look.


Seeing them so close-up makes me think I really should tone down the yellow highlight/trim.

Librarian in Terminator (does anyone call them Tactical Dreadnaught anymore) Armour.


Painted before I read about the colours of Librarians being blue.
I know I've got an unfinished Ezekial somewhere that is the correct blue as well as Azrael although he is tiny compared to the other figures so I might try and bash one up to a better scale one of these days. I bought these when it was a new release when I was on a bit of a Rune rush. Around this time, they were releasing a whole bunch of really good looking metal casts that I just had to have and paint, like the various Space Wolf lords and whatnot.

I went with one of these



I also picked up a few of the Eldar Phoenix Lords (also new at this time).
Here's one that I found unfinished with a couple of unfinished followers.



Somewhere, I have a couple of the Warp Spiders and an Exarch, Fuegan and Eldrad Ulthran too.
