Re:Necron Tomb Stalker Scenic Base/display help

Perhaps get some greenstuff and add it about where the rhino is sinking to simulate ripples in the water. The same could go for the Blood Angel to show the updraft from the jump pack on the liquid. The addition of other bits of wreckage about the base would also make it a bit more interesting.

Weather the rhino up a bit. Maybe add burn marks to simulate where the Gauss weapons have struck it, or gouges where the Tomb Stalker's claws have gained purchase. A little bit of dirt on the tracks could also be an idea. A dry brush of tin bits would make them stand out more too. A further dry brushing of Dark Flesh, then a lighter one Fiery Orange of followed by sparring use of Dhenib Stone will give a decent rust finish (those are just the paints to hand in front of me right now, any colour works).

The treaded part of the back door could do with being dry brushed a darker colour to make it stand out. A darker shade of red/black would give the interior more depth.

Is that a hole in the back door? If so then add a bit of chaos black about it to make it more apparent. Dry brush in some black/grey about it too to add to the effect.

=P

Thanks wyrmalla. Yes that is two holes in the cargo door. I'll take the mass majority of your tips. I don't have some of those paints you mentioned, but I do have some texture GW paints and some weathering powders (soot and dark rust) from my train layouts. I put some white modeling putty around the rhino and painted the oval base base brown then some tan on top of that. Gonna work on the tracks, gauss burns, and cargo door tonight hopefully.
