				<title>Mech Eldar vs. Tau (1500, some pics)</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ Saturday, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(50);'>GW</span> Berlin-Spandau, I battled Tau with my Eldar. <br /> <br /> <b>Eldar list:</b><br /> <br /> Autarch w/ jetbike, power weapon, rokkit launcher<br /> 2x 5 Dire Avengers w/ Serpent<br /> 10 Guardian Defenders w/ Serpent<br /> 2x 5 Fire Dragons w/ Serpent<br /> 3 Warwalkers w/ dual scatterlasers<br /> <br /> Serpents had scatterlaser, shuricannon, holofield<br /> <br /> <b>Tau list:</b><br /> Commander (deep striking)<br /> 2x 10 Fire Warriors<br /> 15 Kroot (outflanking)<br /> 2x 10 Pathfinders (deployed normally)<br /> 2x 3 Broadsides w/ 6 rokkit Drones<br /> Riptide<br /> Aegis<br /> <br /> <b>Mission:</b> Big guns never tire - 5 mission objectives one in the centre (first one in rule book).<br /> <b>Deployment</b>: Hammer and anvil.<br /> <br /> Eldar got first turn.<br /> At the pic you see 5 Serpents side by side holding <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(25);'>DA</span>, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(464);'>FD</span>, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(42);'>GD</span>, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(464);'>FD</span>, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(25);'>DA</span> (symmetric deployment<br /> made some sense in view of the objectives).<br /> Tanks moved forward at min speed to shoot all weapons (shields down). <br /> Pathfinders were the first target. They were deployed between the Warriors, which were behind <br /> the Aegis, and the Drones. When the dust cleared, all Pathfinders were dead. All markers gone.<br /> <br /> Tau took the initiative. Broadsides with rokkit Drones are brutal destroying one Serpent  w/ Guardians <br /> in the centre (exploding) and the Serpent w/ <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(25);'>DA</span> at my left flank (stripping hull points). <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(25);'>DA</span> got pinned while<br /> Guardians got killed by <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(39);'>FW</span>.<br /> <br /> The remaining Eldar tanks advanced. Shields down and firing all weapons. <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(464);'>FD</span> from the Serpent<br /> close to the Riptide disembarked and targeted this beast. Bad rolling. One hit and one wound.<br /> <br /> The game went on. Tau got gradually decimated. One <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(39);'>FW</span> squad annihilated and Drones killed<br /> quickly. The other unit of <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(464);'>FD</span> took on one Broadside unit eliminating it. The other failed a morale<br /> check and fell back.<br /> <br /> Unlucky Tau. Commander (deep striking) and Kroot (outflanking) appeared in round 4. They both<br /> managed to kill my small <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(25);'>DA</span> units which were heading for my two home zone objectives. In return,<br /> Kroot got taken down by Warwalkers and Serpents (shields down, 60'' range is really gorgeous).<br /> <br /> The Autarch made it into combat with the remaining <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(39);'>FW</span> (4 models left) but had a hard time taking<br /> them down so that one full <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(464);'>FD</span> unit had to help out to kill them.<br /> <br /> The Riptide had a nice time, two times failing to roll for the reactor. It was funny to see that Tau<br /> had almost no time to take on the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(464);'>FDs</span> shooting the Riptide for 3 rounds (finally killing it). This was<br /> eventually due to the pressure Eldar put on the Tau.<br /> <br /> It was a nice game against a nice guy. At the end, Eldar won by 2:0 (first blood, breakthrough).<br /> Tau had just the Commander left, Eldar three Serpents (two of which with one hull point), 5+1 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(464);'>FDs</span>, <br /> Autarch, and 1 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(477);'>WW</span>.<br /> <br /> Next time, I'll take a Farseer on a jetbike instead of an Autarch, since her damage output with three<br /> powers per turn can be more helpful than the Autarch shooting.<br /> <br /> Cheers!<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Always hate to see Tau loose, but you made good decisions with target priority (and you got to go first, having markerlights in turn 1 might have made some difference...) so congratulations on a deserved win.<br /> <br /> Looks pretty similar to my 1500 point tau list actually, only less broadsides and more crisis suits in mine.]]></description>
