Dettol. The standard brown stuff, none of their more specialised stuff.

Soak any mini in a tub of it for several hours, and then carefully brush it with a toothbrush or something similar. The paint will slough off if it's been in there long enough. I often do it overnight.

Once all paint seems off it, transfer to a soapy water tub, and just finish it up. Then rinse in water, and you're done. If you find you've missed a spot, just dab off any water and transfer back to the dettol tub.

Do not, I repeat do NOT dilute the dettol. The paint will turn to tar. You can strain the dettol tub off after heavy use to remove the paint sludge that builds up at the bottom, and the dettol can be used again for quite a few sessions of paintstripping.

Dettol is usually okay with pewter, plastic and resin. You may find however that it weakens any glue bonds if the model is already assembled.

I did hear Dettol can eat through finecast stuff so I am presuming this would he the same for FW resin. But then I only heard this I do not know for sure. Somebody did suggest Fairy power spray for finecast as it shouldn't eat through it.

Stripping paint from FW resin model

For non-primer dettol works, but for me it always brings up some of the primer and not all of it which leaves an ugly texture on models.

I've had far greater success with acetone-free nail polish remover (but it's a lot more expensive for the quantites one usually needs). I've been meaning to try brake fluid as well.

My necron warriors after being visited by dettol have unfortunately been made far worse and are in an unpaintable condition until I get rid of the texturing, which nail-polish remover did for 10-15 minute dunks (maybe 2-3 dunks per model, whereas dettol never worked fully for me).

Believe me, I did wash the models with dettol as much as I could but it did not work and they still got the crap all over them. Every single one came out like this over 3 dettol bottles and different dunkings.

I prefer normal brake fluids. Let the miniature inside of that stufff for 30 minutes or up to an hour and the paint will come off as a jelly like coat and the resin will be undamaged.
