Tyranids versus Dark Angels, Fight Club rules

As my collection slowly grows, I am getting closer to moving to proper pointed WH40K battles.

However, last weekend I was not quite there yet. Through the FB page of the FLGS I got into contact with a new opponent. He actually wanted a 1500 or 1750 match but after I explained I don't even have 1.5K of models assembled yet, we agreed to do a Fight Club Match, with as usual the promise of a proper pointed match at some point in the future when I have enough bugs to do so.

Now I knew from earlier interactions that my opponent has multiple armies, with his main being IG. But he also has at least some Eldar and some CSM. So I didn't know before we showed up at the FLGS what I would face. Not that it matters as my very OCD system of making a list for a game does not include opponent type as a factor anyway.

As usual, my primary goal for these games, other than have fun, is to see a new unit type on my side in action, and gain experience facing a variety of enemy units.

As I arrived, I was informed that the rules for Fight Club have changed once again, to be closer to regular WH40K games.

In essence they are now regular games, with just 3 exceptions:

1) The mission is The Relic.
2) FOC is still 1 HQ, 1 Troop and 1 Anything, points don't matter (much).
3) The smaller army gets a bonus to the VP it earns.

All other normal rules apply.

My units for the game:

HQ: 2x TL Devourer Hive Tyrant, Hive commander, one standard Tyrant Guard.
Troops: 3 Ripper bases.
Other: A unit of 5 Rending Claw Raveners.
Total: 490 points, 10 models.

As my opponent arrived, I awaited eagerly to see what would emerge from his troop carrier and the first model to emerge was... A beautifully painted Terminator with one of those big shields and some kind of mace... Some kind of Space Marines it is then? Yes indeed! I am, for the first time, facing the Dark Angels.

More models emerge from the box until we have on the table:

HQ: Ezekiel
Troops: Tactical Squad, 10 Space Marines, one Plasma Gun, one Lascannon, Sergeant with Power Sword and Storm Bolter.
Other: 5 Deathwing Knights.
Total: 575 points.

As I am the smaller army, I get one advantage: for every 3 VP I score, I get one extra for free.

Pre-Game thoughts:

Well... I am the smaller army again. However this time there is not much Dakka in the enemy formation. That is good as it means getting my guys into assault should be easier as there won't be too many of them shot up before they get there. As far as mobility goes I actually have the advantage here as my Raveners are faster than anything else in the game, and they should turn those regular marines into wallpaper paste if they get to them, and as his Dakka is limited, they should get there. I was feeling pretty good about my chances at that time.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
We left the terrain as it was set up on the half table (that's the one rule change I forgot above, half a table only), and rolled for table sides. My opponent got the pick and took the side with the bigger ruins.

Warlord Traits:

Ezekiel has a fixed one.
My forces rolled a useless one.

Psyker Powers:

My Hive Tyrant rolls on Biomance and gets...

Iron Arm AND Endurance! Yay!

Ezekiel keeps his Mind Worm special and gets the Primaris from Divination and Prescience I think. Something that gives him rerolls on pretty much everything when cast.
