New Apocalypse rules clarification: Gauss, Fleshbane, etc...

I had my first read through the new Apocalypse book and noticed a couple of interesting things:

+Super-Heavies are not immune to Gauss weaponry, so a coordinated Night-Scythe assault full of warriors could potentially Gauss a Super-Heavy to death...

+Gargantuan Creatures lost their resistance against Fleshbane weapons or any weapons that wound on a fixed value (except Sniper and Poison weapons), so Sternguards with Hellfire rounds can put a decent dent in a Hierodule or uber-daemon

I wonder if Forge World or GW will change that in an update...

Re:New Apocalypse rules clarification: Gauss, Fleshbane, etc...

If I had to guess, I'd say that they won't. From the changes I've noticed and that others have pointed out to me, I've been getting the feeling that they're trying to make Apocalypse a little more cohesive. By this I mean that in the past it wasn't uncommon to get the feeling that there were 2 fights going on. 1 fight against the super heavies, and 1 fight against everyone else (where you wanted to make sure you weren't accidentally super heavy fodder).

I'm not sure that the Chaos Gods, and the Emperor working in conjunction, with the Eldar and Necrons consulting on the side, could understand even half of the decisions that GW makes though. So take my observation as it is... an observation that these rules changes MAY change the game to behave differently where it feels more like 1 complete fight where you have to pay attention to base and super heavy units at the same time as everything is a threat. And further that this MAY be something that GW intended.

They may have stayed up too late playing blood bowl and slipped and knocked their heads on the way in to work as well though... so... bah...

New Apocalypse rules clarification: Gauss, Fleshbane, etc...

Gauss a SHV to death? Let's look at statistics:
A Baneblade has 9 Hullpoints.
That are 54 hits since you only glance on a 6.
You'll need 81 shots and that means at least 41 Warriors within Rapid Fire-range.
That amount of Warriors is actually more expensive than a Baneblade.

It is lame that Scarabs don't work anymore.
Getting Scarabs in CC with a SHV is almost impossible. And now also useless.

I agree on Fleshbane and friends.
It's weird that Poison and Sniper doesn't work, but weapons that are almost exactly the same do work.
Canoptek Tomb Stalker has the same problem, except that he is immune to Fleshbane and Poisoned, but not to Snipers.
