				<title>1850 FARDAR (Would appreciate opinions as this might be my Nova list)</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ After painstakingly building and scrapping list after list I have arrived at one worth play testing.  Let me know what you all think.<br /> <br /> Farseer with spirit stones<br /> <br /> troops:<br /> 10 guardians in wave serpent (<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(126);'>TL</span> bright lance; holo-field; ghost walk matrix)<br /> 10 guardians in wave serpent (<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(126);'>TL</span> bright lance; holo-field; ghost walk matrix)<br /> 10 guardians in wave serpent (<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(126);'>TL</span> bright lance; holo-field; ghost walk matrix)<br /> 10 guardians in wave serpent (<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(126);'>TL</span> bright lance; holo-field; ghost walk matrix)<br /> 10 guardians in wave serpent (<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(126);'>TL</span> bright lance; holo-field)<br /> <br /> <br /> Farsight Enclave allies:<br /> <br /> Ethereal<br /> <br /> Elite:<br /> Riptide with ion accelerator and <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(126);'>TL</span> Fusion gun (earth caste pilot array; early warning override)<br /> <br /> Troops:<br /> 3 Crisis suits (Bonding Knife and flamer)<br /> <br /> Heavy:<br /> 3 Broadsides with High Yield Missiles and Smart missile system (Early Warning Override)<br /> <br /> Total: 1847pts<br /> <br /> Basically I deep strike the flamer crisis suits.  The earth caste array makes the riptide that much more reliable.  The broadsides are my dakka.  The Wave serpents keep my troops alive.  The main issue I have currently is anti-armor.  The lances and the riptide are my only way to deal with <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(9);'>av</span> 13-14.  Mind you they do okay at it.  Also I dont have too much anti-flyer support in the list.  I like how resilient the list is and how much dakka it can put out.  Whatya guys think.  Good, ok, bad, or it sucks?]]></description>

				<title>1850 FARDAR (Would appreciate opinions as this might be my Nova list)</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ Despite what you said in your post I would suggest that you are seriously short on anti infantry torrent. The Guardians really can't be relied on to deal with massed infantry because a) they are you scoring b) they are made of paper and c) they are very short ranged (putting both them and the Serpent in close). Functionally you have 3 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(657);'>HYMP</span>, 1 Pie plate and 5 Serpent Shields to deal with infantry, which is nowhere near enough. Fast assault armies like Flesh Hound Daemons, Chaos Spawn, Necron Wraiths etc will all be on you by turn 2, and assuming they have some of there own fire support with the amount of firepower you have to work with they probably wouldn't even need to commit until turn 3-4, just sit in the midfield and control space. Honestly I think you are seriously overestimating the amount of AV13-14 you will need to deal with, simply changing 3 of those Serpents to have Scatters and underslung Cannons would make this list quite a bit more balanced. AV11-12 spam is quite a bit less common than it was, and S6 spam deals with that better in any case. 6th is much more infantry heavy, and this list feels like it has been designed for 5th.<br /> <br /> Overall there is quite a bit of stuff in here which doesn't really make sense. The Farseer is basically going to do nothing since he can't cast out of a Serpent and the bulk of your army is twin linked in the first place. The Ethereal literally does nothing in this list (other than give up a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(140);'>VP</span>? not sure if that is just if he is the Warlord or not). The 3 Suits give you far less than the equivilent points in Fire Warriors (you can't re-roll scatter, so you have to be very lucky to do much Deep Striking in). You can almost buy a unit of Jetbikes by dropping the Ghostwalk Matrix off all the Serpents. I would far rather have a Wraithknight over a Riptide in this list as well, it gives you a credible combat threat to stop people simply running straight into you.]]></description>

He will go with the broadsides along with the farseer.  The plan is to try and get fortune there.  Tau and eldar are battle brothers so I can also make the riptide twin linked with his main gun.  As for fire power you know that the wave serpents also have the ability to shoot <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(24);'>d6</span> + 1 S7 shots that are also pinning and ignore cover?  The 50 guardians can put out 100 shots a turn.  If I disembark them I will be using them to mass fire on something.  So most likely 2 to 3 units to make sure i kill something that is worth risking them for.  Had 2 units kill 7 hounds by themselves last night.  They are <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(14);'>BS</span> 4 now and their weapons are assault 2 and ap2 on rolls of 6's to wound.  They are better then you give them credit for.  I am curious which mass troops do you think I should be worried about?  ]]></description>

What you have (light sarcasm here <img src="/s/i/a/6d3c0a908a3861135dfaebde91c0ecf6.gif" border="0">  ) makes me sad. Soo, much wasted potential.<br /> <br /> No ethereal. Instead a Helios (PR/<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(153);'>FB</span>) Shas'O (Irid Armor, too). 2 more Helios buddies. The 3rd XV8 of the elite unit is promoted to 'Vre, and given the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(626);'>MSS</span> and C&CN toys. Now all have AP2 yum, yum guns, Twin-Linked and Ignores Cover. It's killed 95% of what I've pointed it at. I add two GunDs for ablatives & the PNeuroChip. It seems like one riptide does not put out enough dakka to go through such troubles to bring one. Most people will probably ignore him and chase your serpents. <br /> ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Can a farsight force take an ethereal? I've only skimmed the codex but I thought I remembered a rule along the lines of no shadow sun or ethereals.  <br /> <br /> I've forgotten what the earth caste riptide pilot is all about but I'd gear the suit up for <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(805);'>AA</span> with a velocity tracker and add drones to the broadsides, probably drop the xv8s and slip in a min jetbikes squad if possible.  Agree regarding more scatter lasers too.<br /> <br /> ]]></description>

It seems like one riptide does not put out enough dakka to go through such troubles to bring one. Most people will probably ignore him and chase your serpents. <br /> </div></blockquote><br /> <br /> The 10 man squad of defenders is the smallest you can take them.  As for the crisis suits.  A 3 man squad is required for every farsight enclave army.<br />   The riptide advances a lot even with ws1 it still does pretty well taking things down.  It still gets 3 smash attacks on the charge.  The ability to re-roll his nova reactor roll is amazing because it just makes him that much more reliable in that sense.  That can wound him if he fails that roll.  If he gets the roll off he gets extra strength, extra dakka, a storm shield invul, or extra movement to get him on the opposite side of the table possibly in one turn. 				<description><![CDATA[ Can the Riptide take the earth caste pilot array? In their army listing they do not have access to signature systems. I wanted to do the same thing but it looks to me like the only Riptide in the game that can bring one is the special character.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Seems like deep striking crisis suits with flamers is rather risky.  You are going to have to drop them pretty close to be in range and that seriously crunches on your ability to hedge against deep strike mishaps.]]></description>

You have nothing that is particularly great against AV14. You could drop a ghost walk matrix or 3 to upgrade the suits with some fusion blasters. 				<description><![CDATA[ Ghostwalk Matrix is overkill on the Serpents unless you expect the terrain to be so dense that you can't land them in open terrain at all (thus avoiding the dangerous terrain check).  With your holo-fields you'll have a 4+ cover just from moving and 3+ when moving flat out.  The only time you won't is the opponent's first turn if you're going second, and if so, deploy behind cover instead of in it.<br /> <br /> I would drop some or all of the Bright Lances on your Serpents for Scatter Lasers.  Twinlinking the Serpent Shield is HUGE and effective against any target except <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(9);'>AV</span> 14, and the Scatter Laser is a beast itself against anything but AV13-14.   Use the points you saved from cutting Ghostwalk Matrix to equip your Tau allies with anti-heavy armor weaponry to shore up that weakness.<br /> <br /> ]]></description>
