Help with painting Ork Boyz

I got my first pack of anything 40K a couple weeks ago, and decided to paint them recently. I thought about looking online for some painting tips, went "SCREW THAT" and slapped some warpstone glow onto their skin with reckless abandon. Now, actually looking at how to paint stuff well, I realized I may have made a mistake. Have I, as I believe, screwed up? Or is there a way to fix this?
Or is this even a problem?
Please help!

If you painted with a water based paint, you can make a 50/50 solution of simple green and water and soak them in it for a few hours. you can then scrub them with a tooth brush or denture brush. i recommend the denture brush because it has that nifty pointed bristle section on the back. Also, you don't have to be afraid of leaving them in the solution for too long. i forgot some models in the solution for over a year and nothing bad happened to them.

I wouldn't dilute the Simple Green, if you go that route - it only slows down the process. Plenty of threads/articles on stripping models, if you want to consider other solvents. Just run a quick search, whether on Dakka or at large, and you'll get a good rundown of what's available, along with any necessary warnings (some of the stuff is rather caustic, some is only safe to use on metals, etc.).

Now, whether or not I'd strip them in the first place is a different matter, entirely. Personally, I'd be tempted to save one, even if stripping the rest, both as a piece of nostalgia and a baseline when tracking your progress. Depending on their current condition, you may also be able to touch them up later without needing to start from scratch (hard to say without seeing them). There's also the question of gaming and the size of your collection. If you have other models to move onto, I'd leave them be for the moment, especially if you plan to play with them. Better to have one comparatively crude squad in a fully painted army than leave half of them gray, since you keep revisiting the same models.

TLDR: Only a problem if you think it is. If so, you've got options.
