After digging out some old undead bits i fancied putting an army together. I have been thinking about a theme and a little fluff and heres what i have so far.

The legion of Lazaruski

Themed arround the frozen retreating Napoleonic armies fleeing the Russian winter but in a whfb world. Think this ties in quite well with the vc eastern theme that a routed imperial army might get caught by harsh weather in the north of Ostermark and be force to retreat through Sylvania, become prey to the nasties and be resurected to march on southwards!

The history enthusiast in me found the info on napoleons army really intresting and the more recent archeological findings of mass graves and lone soldiers who fell in their boots and were frozen and buried in ditches. When you think about it on a human scale its horrific but history provides us with some fantstic stories, myths and inspiration.

Lazaruski

A hardened general tainted by his drive to conquer, turned by dark whisperings and the will to fight on Lost his life fighting but still wages war, driving his undead legion against his former kinsmen.

Well thats the idea. Model wise nothing will be too out of the ordinary but will be looking dark and frozen. Expect converted/resurected empire units and i would love to include a couple of empire war machines, with some amened rules to make them completely unpredictable, unreliable and fun to play. Exploding cannon and misfiring muskets to add to the ramshackle fun.

So the first of my minis.

My black coach. so far unbased but mostly finished, will add some snowy, frozen weathering.

Loving the mantic skeletons. i think most of my core will be mantic.

Also been working on some icy weathering. will take some pics today.

Tomb banshee added to the retinue! Snowy skeletons and ghouls.

Also have a zombie dragon en route. as a mount for Lazaruski, looking forward to that arriving. i have some leds and a little fibreoptic goodness for that too.

As for lazaruski himself im still looking for a suitable mini. Looking at empire stuff and thinking how can i necro that guy up.
