HI! I have recently been introduced to this 40k gaming club and picked up the hobby, now I have started collecting and playing Nids, I haven't got a clue what I've gotten myself into and I have quite a collection after only flashing 100 or so quid (HURRAY FOR eBay!), but here are the units I have, can you guys suggest or scrap together a viable 1000 and 1500 point list for me with any additional options from the codex?

For starting off the warriors will be fine, but once you start playing against more competitive lists you will learn that S8 wrecks them.

Genestealers got hit hard with the edition change, I'd wait til the new dex drops before fielding them as anything other than Ymgarls (which get around many of the shortcomings normal stealers have).

Love me some devilgaunts (those devourer carrying ones).

Hiveguard are awesome, get more of them. Its usually preference on number of them and number of Zoanthropes, so test both to determine which you like more.

10 Gargoyles is way too few. Get about 20 of them and they are very nice this edition.

Tervigons are one of the best troop choices of any codex atm. I highly recommend at least one if not two.

Hormas need 20+ models to be effective at all.

If you stick to 1000 for now:
Flyrant

2 broods of 20 Devilguants

30 Hormagaunts with Toxin Sacs and Glands

Hiveguard

Using your current models this would probably be the best, but if you get a Tervigon, feel free to drop Hormies to 20, drop on Termaguant brood, add crushing claws to the tervigon as well as AG+TS, max its powers (to roll on biomancy), then bring the 2 broods of little buys up in count til you hit 1k. You will be very light on synapse (only your flyrant), so you will need to be very careful. You could drop the hormies and put in a warrior brood, but it wont have nearly as much killing potential as the smarmier broods do.

You don't have enough field-able stuff that will do well in 1500. You would have to dip into warriors and genestealers, which both start to have their problems show around that point total.
