Best Way to primer Heresy World Eater

Is white primer the way to go then just use that for the white armor for the model as well? I was thinking of a grey primer first then white? IF that could work does anyone recommend a grey primer?

For my Biel Tan Eldar I usually prime with a light Grey and then build up to a white. In my experience when working with white you will eventually want to shade the model so starting white provides less opportunity for a natural initial shade and more re work later. Also I wouldnt recommend using a primer as your base paint unless you are using a paint primer like Army Painters line.

I would prime white, then use a light wash of black, brown, green or blue with a larger, clean, soft, wet brush to wash the colour into the recesses. Should give you reasonable shadows and leave the raised areas purer white.

Plus it is really fast.

White spray paint tends to be very rough (not always but why rick it?). So I find it’s better to prime gray and then paint or even better air brush to a white.

For my world eaters, I priming a dark gray, air brush with celestra gray, wash with nuln oil, then start to build up from celestra to gray to white scar high lights.
Paint chips are mechanicus standard gray.

Forge worlds painting guide doesn’t match the printed book. So if you want something closer to the pictures you’ll have to mix up your own blue.

I did a slight modification of forgeworld's recipe for world eaters.

A very light coat of white primer and then a light coat of ceramite white. Then wash with a mix of 25% nuln oil, drakenov nightshade (blue wash), lahriman's medium, and water. Then I dry brushed Praxii White (the slightly warm off white dry compound), instead of sponging on more white.

Krylon, Indoor/Outdoor Primer - Gray.

They make a bunch of colors but they all say something like "double coverage" or "2x", but I stay away from those for fear of it being too thick. These are specifically labeled "primer" and I've only ever seen white, gray and black.

Only problem I've had is that its almost the same gray color as the dark gray GW plastics, so it's hard to see your coverage sometimes.
