Get one of the small bottles and try a test.

If it is too glossy, then go with a matte varnish at the end.

Badger_Bhoy wrote:It's very light, a bit lighter than Astronomicon Grey, but Vallejo Acrylic Urethane primer may work. With a dark glaze it may suffice for a basecoat if that's your intent. Otherwise, maybe Tamiyas surface primer, it's more of a distinct neutral grey and might be closer than the very pale Vallejo.

Thanks for the help guys and excuse me for getting facts wrong haha, I'm still rather new to painting in general. @Badger_Bhoy Do you particularly recommend any washes or glaze to give it that darker effect? Maybe a GW wash perhaps? I didn't want the same ultramarine cast off look for my wolves either and after a lot of searching found someone who used halfords own grey primer. Gave my space wolves the grey look I wanted without the horrible blue tinge.
