any suggestions on how to break down a model?

So a few months ago I purchased a secondhand primed Dreadknight that had a dead pile of bloodletters at its feet (rather nicely done too). The dread knight its self was base coated chainmail but looks a bit thick so I would like to strip that and start a new, but also the posing is quite boring. I popped the knight off of the base and it looks like it was glued with normal super glue. If the entire model was glued with it is there anything that I can use to break it down that would be gentile on the plastic?

Any form of paint stripper that is regularly used for minis will do it most of the time.

I use a product called Dettol, which is perfect for when I stripped all my minis as it broke most if not all bonds that I had used 8+ years ago.

I think in the states it is called Simple Green? Just have a search for some other paint stripping threads, I think 1 may even be stickied!

If its superglued then try putting it in the freezer overnight.. This should make the joints fairly brittle, as superglue usually contains moisture pockets.

In the freezer you say, interesting lol I'll give it a try. I'll also give it a soak in simple green. I was planning on buying some tonight after work to try to save a sentinel I massacred ages ago when I was young and reckless lol

Thanks guys!

The freezer method relies on the expansion of those moisture pockets tomcat mentions as they freeze, causing tiny fractures in the brittle glue. Multiple freeze/thaw cycles is better than a single chill, and you don't actually have to apply pressure while things are still cold. Don't know at what temperature styrene becomes brittle (different for various plastics), but it needn't be an issue.
