3x XV88 broadsides
-TW rail rifle
-TW SMS
- target lock (1 w/ velocity tracker)

Plan is to bubble the fire warriors around the ethereals and have one use zephyr and the other use invocation of fire to sprint up and shoot, use markers to laze targets for them giving them a higher BS while they run and essentially make the whole lot assault 2 @ 30" with a BS around 5. Once I get to where I want to be ill use the same tactic to with draw and shoot. The broadsides will be for anti-transport and flyer with the skyray to assist with its markers and for the riptide to pound anything that gets in it's line if sight.

The crisis suits are going to deepstrike and run harassment on soft targets in their end zone or lend additional support where needed

The sniper drone team will be for eliminating assaulting units before they get close to my fire warriors and taking out targets of opportunity. I want to move them up with the warriors and ethereals till I get to a spot with decent line of site

Hoping between the pathfinders, skyray, and sniper drones ill have plenty of markerlights to spread around between all the units in range. I usually try to leave a mark or 2 on units that I think will be able to assault me to give me that extra bit of oomph with overwatch

I made this list in my head on the way to work this morning so if I'm off on some if the rules I apologize I'm advance

I'm curious how you feel this type of list would work

Would you just drop the broadsides? Or sniper drones? I like the idea of the sniper drones and in theory they would be great against a vast majority of assault troops (I haven't used them yet and they supply some markerlights).

What would you put on the riptide instead of the sky fire/interceptor combo? It all seems very bland or expensive when put on a riptide

This...is a weird list. So you want to foot slog the FW around using the Ethereals? They'll get eaten up (4+ armor), and unless you put the Ethereals in a squad, they'll be exposed to enemy fire. Remember, one ethereal is worth two VP on its own. They will be a target. If i kill both your ethereals (one of them is the warlord), i'll get 4 VP right there, and with pie plates and precision shooting by snipers etc, it won't be hard. :|

The way they are kitted out makes them for attacking "hard targets" like MEQ and armor.

A sniper drone team with 3 sniper drones is not going to "stop assault" from getting to you. Do you have to move sniper teams to get a shot? 48in is pretty far ha. Although it should get a bonus from the ethereal as it is a pulse weapon.

I love marker lights, but this list probably has too much. There's a point when having too much marker light support effects your dakka. You don't want to be, and really shouldn't be, leaving a mark or 2 on units that might assault you next turn. Why not just use those markers and if you have that many marker lights left over, you have too much marker light support.

This list will be eaten by template armies, and most armies have access to that.

It seems like you are trying to do this:

British Firing Line If you've seen The Patriot, you'll know what this means. Basically, just push as many warriors out on the field with two pulse rifles Tau up in the front and put all of the carbines in the back. Camp like a bitch in terrain but make sure there is a bit of open ground. Exploit the Supporting Fire special rule ruthlessly.
