Hey guys, I'm finalizing my DA list before I commit buying and painting. The idea is pretty simple and I believe plays to DA's strongpoints.

Behind the ADL the tac squad, whirlwinds, and devastators with azrael+libby (for prescience) hunker down and just blow things up. The Dreads flank this position to provide counter charge potential and more firepower. Between the whirlwind salvos (for horde/cover) the plasma cannons (for terms/elites) and the 4 prescienced lascannons and the icarus I feel I have a good strong yet broad range of fire to handle most targets.

On the other end, the ravenwing squad is my backfield disruptor/objective clearer; the flamers and heavy bolter (plus the other tl bolters) should be enough to wipe any small squads hunkering in cover or on an objective. The deathwing can than either come down without scattering near the ravenwing to support and disrupt more, or can DS defensively near the gunline to stop any advancing or DS'ing squads.

So thats it for now, what do y'all think? I'm quite open to any idea, the only thing is I'd like to hold onto Azrael as the HQ, I just like being able to count all 3 types of DA as one. Thanks in advance.

I personally dont use my dreadnought as it never does anything for me. Maybe thats just me. Another cool option for you would be a drop pod army. Can be very devastating.

change that vindicator to a IG Maniticore or Deathstrike. Great ranged tank barrage weapons . I would actually recommend swapping out your current dreads for mortis dreads using forgeworld rules. it gives you some decent anti air capability, at least better than just one icarus lascannon.
the banner of devastation is too good to pass up, look a little bit more into that bit of glory.

Thats what the termies are for, I can always drop them near the main gunline to dissuade charges, especially if the dreads are down. WW, also be sure to keep bikes away from where your plasma cannons are going that could get nasty.
