Painting Crimson Fists problems.

What exactly is the best way to paint the blue of the Crimson fists. Lots of tutorials say use Kantor blue as a basecoat, Drakenhoff Nightshade as a shade and another layer with watered down Kantor blue, then adding all the highlights followed by the Gulliman Glaze, Now I've tried that out but the shade is almost unnoticeable. Should I change the shade to Nuln Oil perhaps, or go for a lighter blue? I really like the deep dark blue though, and the shading is annoying me extremely badly..

You could try applying a nuln oil wash directly into the recesses then wash it with nightshade once thats dry. That should give you more depth.

A picture would be good as well.

I'll be adding some pictures later if I can find working batteries.

Edit: Yeah. It'll take a while... Ever single battery in the house is empty or so old and unused that they lost their charge.
