The first thing you need to do is get IA1 (second edition) and review the rules for your list.

Once you've done that your upgrades need a lot of work.

HQ/commissar Vanquishers get hull LC, coax heavy stubber, and beast hunter shells. If you have points to spare add plasma or melta sponsons.

Executioners get sponson plasma and maybe a hull LC.

Anything with an ordnance main gun never gets additional weapons because they have to fire at BS 1 if you use the main gun (and you always use the main gun).
