Conversion Resources Question: Armour Studs

Hey people, my people.
I want to know what all you modelers and converters out there use when it comes to rivets, studs and bolts.

At the moment I am resorting to slicing off pieces of a long cylindrical bit of plastic.
This is okay for small studs or rivets but are lacking that distinctly rounded appearance.

At this point I guess I'm hoping there is something out there that comes in various sizes and individual pieces that I do not have to cut myself.

Cheers

Re:Conversion Resources Question: Armour Studs

Doomthumbs's tutorial on coins works equally well for rivets.

Long story short: roll a 'snake' of Green Stuff. Cut thin 'coins' off of it. Use as studs. Use a shaping tool (or wet toothpick) to bevel the edges if you fancy.

Hope that helps.

Or buy a small hole punch. They come in many different sizes and can get really tiny. Then all you do is just sit down and watch a movie or show while you punch rivets out if plastic sheets. I find yard sale signs works rather well.

Conversion Resources Question: Armour Studs

The lack of round heads is what largely has turned me off of using punched disks and sliced rod, for most studding/riveting tasks. Now, I drill a shallow depression and glue in a microbead (tiny plastic spheres, available at craft stores - a few bucks gets you literally thousands of them) or small ball bearing (don't have a source for these, but I've accumulated enough over the years for the odd larger stud), instead. Since the depression required is shallow, only requiring a twist or two of a pin vice (I actually have one of those spiral twist drills, which works perfectly with a single stroke), the time and effort required isn't much greater than punching/slicing and attaching equivalent styrene rivets.
