How to make a 3 color paint job look good?

Hello Dakka. Does anyone know of any examples of decently painted 3 color armies? I was browsing through an old White Dwarf magazine at a store (can't remember which issue) where it showed a Nurgle army that had at most 3-4 colors on it maximum. I'm sure great effects could be had just by using a solid base color, washes and glazes. I was thinking of make a "ghost" theme spaced wolves army, perhaps Wolfbrothers, where the whole army would be comprised mostly of just a pale grey.

The berzerker is definitely nice, but it's 5 colors, not 3. The only way to get 3 is if you use red as a basecoat for the marine, black basecoat as the backpack, paint on the gold, the brown and the silver, and don't count basecoats as an actual color-but why wouldn't you?

The black and white Templar is fantastic though: first person who says it doesn't have enough colors on it is a prick.

Necrons. People have largely branched out from the Terminator look, of late, but no army is easier to paint to a decent standard with minimal colors and effort. Spray silver, wash black, drybrush silver, then pick an accent for eyes and gauss tubes (was even easier when the tubes were colored acrylic). If you don't count the black wash, you can add a color for basing and still be at three.

Not particularly interesting, especially compared to current trends, but you'd have to be pretty clumsy to tackle an army that way and end up with anything but an acceptable tabletop force.
