Well, it all begun with this RTS game entitled Dawn of War - if you are registered on this forums, you probably would have heard of it by now, one way or another. I played the said game competitively for many, many years (I achieved a ranked 1v1 autscore of 1600 - don't know if this tells you anything but oh well). Anyway, while the DOW's game mechanics themselves were to me, simply perfect (DOW is according to me, the best RTS game ever made, while the balance itself might not have been that good, the game was still amazing in so many ways), I enjoyed the lore and story of the game equally. Perhaps the latter was even more appealing to me than the former. That is when I got interested in the WH40K franchise - I begun to read some books and even thought about starting to play table top but in the end decided not to because of the financial costs.
