Plutonium Spray Paint - Is this good for priming?

I just was browsing through a local art stores website when I came across this spray paint.

http://www.dickblick.com/products/plutonium-spray-paint/

It says that it dries matte, so I'm thinking that it should work as a primer for models, but I thought I'd ask to see if any of you guys out there have had experience using this.

It's a bit more expensive than what I'm used to paying for primer. Usually I just get Krylon Flat Black for a few bucks at Walmart, but I'm on my painting table is about 30 Daemonettes that need to get painted as well as 20 Seekers and it's a pain in the butt to go from a black base to the light purple I'm aiming for. So when I saw that Plutonium offers a huge variety of colors (one of them being the light purple I've been looking for) it would really make painting a lot of Daemonettes pretty easy! My daemon army could go from an semi-agonizing experience to one of ease!

So yeah if you've had experience using this spray paint, let me know what you think about it!

Maybe it'll work a charm, maybe it'll be hard to get your paint to stick on it. Without doing a test purchase and test piece it is hard to tell.

I'd recommend to stay closer to the beaten path and take something from the regular modeling / model train people's toolset. There are primer spray cans offered in other colours (notably the medium grey best for getting lighter, but not quite yellow/white colours to shine) on sale there. I have good experiences with Tamiya surface primer, which comes in different colours and spray can sizes.

My clear preference is Vallejo Airbrush primer in Black, with a thin undercoat of medium or light grey, but that is only practical if you have or want an airbrush anyway. ;-]

I hate to think of painting anything up from a black primer - if the purple spray doesn't work out, try a white primer spray then a purple wash (or two if you want a darker colour) over an initial light wash of black to give some more definition.
